After the successful revival of IGUALADA BIKEPARADISE COMP. last year at the new skatepark in Parc Central of Igualada, this year’s second edition joined the URBAN WORLD SERIES, establishing itself as one of the most powerful authentic BMX events in the country.
The day started off splendidly and hot in Igualada for the UWS Igualada BikeParadise.
From early in the morning, riders from all over the country began arriving at the skatepark, eager to hit the bowl. After everyone had some warm-up time, we kicked off the competitions for the JUNIOR and EXPERT categories, both showcasing a high level of riding and strong participation.
In the afternoon, around 5:00 PM, it was time for the main event: the PRO category. The venue was packed with spectators—stands full and the entire perimeter of the bowl surrounded by an enthusiastic crowd. Rock music was blasting, setting the vibe as we launched into the PRO finals, featuring 16 high-level riders from across the Iberian Peninsula and some international guests like Tom Russell from England and Robin Meza from Colombia.
The finals featured spectacular runs, massive airs, and impressive tricks. Tom Russell came out on top with a riding style based on a mix of big airs, flow, speed, and stylish tricks. Saul Vilar from Vigo took second place with solid runs and a wide range of technical tricks, while Robin Meza secured third with an impressive display of hard tricks.
To wrap things up, we held the high air contest, this year dedicated to our great friend and local rider Roger Soler, who sadly passed away a few months ago. In his honor, the contest was named the “ROGER SOLER HIGH AIR”. After a fierce battle between the three finalists—Saul Vilar, Tom Russell, and Daniel Santiago—it was Daniel Santiago who came out victorious with a massive 3.6-meter air over the coping.
Finally, we held the awards ceremony, with loads of prizes thanks to our partners and a sticker shower for all the attendees.
