The third edition of Madrid Urban Sports is underway to host the Scooter World Championships

  • Madrid Urban Sports is back stronger than ever from the 16th to the 18th of June in Madrid Rio.

  • Olympic Breaking and BMX qualifiers will bring together the international elite

Madrid Urban Sports is one of the three events of the Urban World Series, where culture and urban sport come together in the city. In its third edition, the event will be open to the public and will take place from 16 to 18 June on the esplanade of Madrid Rio which will be filled with adrenaline with the four main disciplines of urban sports: Skate, BMX, Breaking and Scooter.

The Urban World Series created the event to give urban athletes the opportunity to showcase their talent by creating high-level competitions which, in this edition, will also include Breaking and BMX Olympic qualifiers. Madrid will host the best athletes in these two disciplines to compete for a place at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Madrid Rio will host the Breaking For Gold Series, the chance to win a ticket to Paris, which will be Breaking’s first appearance in the greatest sporting competition of all time. BMX will bring together the best athletes of the C1 circuit, promoted by the UCI, which will give some extra points to Paris for those who manage to get on the podium at the Central Park.

The World Scooter Championship 2023 will be held at Madrid Urban Sports with the support of World Skate. The 4th edition of the Scooter World Championship will land again in Spain in 2023, under the program of Madrid Urban Sports. These world championships will host the two main modalities of this sport: Park and Street, and each of these modalities will consist of three categories: Female, Male and Junior. Since its creation in 2019, the Scooter World Championship has been held under the programming of major urban sports events, such as the World Roller Games in 2019 and Extreme Barcelona in 2021 and this 2023 it returns to settle in Spain in one of the most important events on the national scene: The Madrid Urban Sports.

This event is a unique opportunity for riders to showcase their skills in high-level competitions while preparing for the Olympics, as well as for the public to enjoy a unique experience full of spectacle and excitement. One factor to highlight in this third edition is the growing representation of women’s sports in all the disciplines: BMX, Skate, Breaking, Scooter Street and Park. This year, Madrid Urban Sports returns stronger than ever with two great Olympic qualifiers and paving the way for Scooter to reach the Olympic showcase, becoming a benchmark of urban sport worldwide that continues to grow.
