The 17th edition of Extreme Barcelona will take place from September 5th to 7th at the Parc del Fòrum.
Hot Wheels, the iconic toy car brand created by Mattel in 1968, continues its commitment to young riders and the future stars of urban sports through its Hot Wheels Superchargers program. In 2025, this initiative—which supports emerging talent in urban sports for kids aged 6 to 16—celebrates its fifth anniversary alongside Urban World Series, a key partnership in the development of skateboarding, scooter, and BMX in Spain and Portugal.
Top figures from the world of urban sports have not missed the chance to support emerging talent, and the Hot Wheels Superchargers program has featured ambassadors such as Spanish Olympic skateboarder Danny León, Tokyo 2020 Olympic BMX silver medalist Daniel Dehrs, and Scootering Street World Champion Jonathan Perroni.
Since its launch in 2021, more than 350 riders have participated in the 30 competitions organized by Hot Wheels Superchargers and Urban World Series. Altogether, these young urban sports talents have earned 90 medals—some of them in the most recent edition of Extreme Barcelona.
The Future Stars of Urban Sports Shine in Hot Wheels Superchargers
In addition to the Junior competitions, Hot Wheels and Urban World Series enhance the visibility of young talent through their “Riding for a Dream” initiative—a video interview series featuring past winners and medalists from Hot Wheels Superchargers events, sharing their experiences from previous editions. This season’s featured riders include:
Jan De la Romana – Scooter (ESP): 3rd place at Hot Wheels Superchargers Porto Street Cup 2024 and 2nd at HWS Extreme Barcelona 2022
Nil Pla – Skate (ESP): 3rd at HWS Extreme Barcelona 2024
Darío de la Fuente – BMX (ESP): 3rd at HWS Extreme Barcelona 2024
Laia De la Romana – Scooter (ESP): 4th at HWS Porto Street Cup 2024
Bereket F. De Cuebas – Skate (ESP): 2nd at HWS Extreme Barcelona 2024
This project serves as an exceptional platform for young urban sports talents to showcase their skills in a high-level environment, where action and excitement are guaranteed—thanks to Hot Wheels and Urban World Series.
Next stop: September 5–7 at the Parc del Fòrum, featuring the Junior finals in Scooter, BMX, and Skate at Extreme Barcelona.
