Urban World Series and The World Battle, the internationally renowned Breaking event, have teamed up to present a new BMX Street and Scootering Street competition in the city of Porto. The Alfándega Congress Centre hosted the first edition of the Porto Street Cup, which from August 30 to September 1 was the world epicentre of urban sports with more than 8,000 spectators thrilled with the best show.

“It has been incredible to see the response of the urban sports fans in Portugal who have turned out for the event. The first UWS event in Portugal has been a success with world champions and great stars of Scooter and BMX Street” – Victor Casanovas, UWS General Manager.

The best BMX and Scootering

The first international urban sports event after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games was attended by some of the world’s biggest stars who were quick to shine on the Street Plaza.

Eduardo Rodríguez (176) was the winner of the Porto Street Cup BMX Pro, taking home the gold medal after beating Liam Andreu (156.67) and Álvaro Esquivel (136.99).

In the Scootering competition, Matis Neyroud (151.83) was crowned the first Porto Street Cup champion and was very happy after winning the gold medal. “It’s a wonderful feeling, it was very difficult for me to think of the best tricks because many athletes do better tricks that are crazy. But I was able to do it in the end, I’m very happy. I’m very happy not to be injured, I’m going to give my best at Extreme Barcelona and in Rome, we’ll see how it goes.”

Lucas Di Meglio (148.84) and Auguste Pellaud (120.5) accompanied him on the podium with the silver and bronze medals respectively.

The future is in good hands

In addition to the best riders in the Pro category, the Junior championship was also contested. Noel Luka (69) was the winner of the Hot Wheels Superchargers Scootering Junior, beating Noa Majó Checa (47.67) and Jan de la Romana (47.33) in the grand final.

Kayim Ermiyas Figueiras (63.33) took the gold medal in the Hot Wheels Superchargers BMX Junior, beating João Coito (49) and Willian Bracho (48.67) in the grand final.
